Sweat V's Steam Community Grant

The Sweat vs Steam Run Event raises money to support our local community, with funds raised through the running of our annual run event going back into our community through our Community Grants Program. In 2023, we were able to donate over $15,000 back into the community, supporting 18 different organisations and individuals!

The Sweat vs Steam Event means we can:

  • Offer our community the chance to participate in recreation-based activities.

  • Financially support individuals, schools or community groups.

  • Provide the chance for individuals to build self-confidence.

  • Foster a sense of community and connection.

We have a number of grants on offer this year, including:

$1000 - grants for Clubs/schools/not for profits

$300 - individual grants to help individuals pursue their chosen pursuit

*Note, this differs to previous years where individuals/groups applied for specific grant amounts based on their project/pursuit. This year we have set grants to help ensure fairness across the community.

We aim to support a variety of applications that meet our criteria that funding aims to provide opportunities which are focused but not limited to, RECREATIONAL based

activities. This could include but is not limited to programs, services, support or equipment.

Successful applicants also agree to assist/provide volunteering support for the event. We require many helpers to make our event successful. Organisation/club/school/not for profits to provide minimum FIVE (5) volunteers, individuals to provide (1-2). Please note this is a requirement to then receive the community grant.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • manning drink station

  • course marshal

  • set up and/or pack down (great if you want to run also!)

  • assist with registration & bib distribution (again great if you want to run too)

  • on course entertainment such as musical performance, dance routine, photography/videography etc - the ideas could be endless!

  • any other tasks or ideas you ay have that can give back to the event.
